Artists, songwriters and anyone interested in pursuing a career within the music industry are all invited to join WIM New york for a discussion with women who are A&R’s at labels and publishing companies. The panelist will share their experience and knowledge on how they got their position and what it takes to become a successful A&R.

About Our Panelists:

Moderator: Tiffany Almy, Rothenberg, Mohr & Binder, LLP

Tiffany R. Almy is a transactional attorney at Rothenberg, Mohr & Binder LLP, a full-service music and entertainment law firm with offices in Beverly Hills, New York City and Miami.  Tiffany has a diverse client roster which includes developing to super-star recording artists, producers, songwriters, film and television composers, personal managers, production companies, record industry executives and other entities involved in music, film, television and theatre.  In representing these clients, she regularly drafts and negotiates a wide variety of agreements, including recording agreements, music distribution agreements, music publishing agreements, live touring and residency agreements, composer agreements, sponsorship and endorsement deals, management and employment agreements, master use and synchronization licenses, and other music rights agreements.  Tiffany is on the Board of Women In Music, is a member of the NY Bar, and lives in New York City.


Panelist: Carson Donnelly, Columbia Records

Carson Donnelly began her career in the A&R department at Columbia Records as an intern in 2008, and has been working there ever since. She’s worked with a wide array of artists, most of whom lean a little left of center (e.g. MGMT, Chairlift, Wet, The Neighbourhood and Kelsey Lu). She’s currently a Director of A&R at Columbia.


Panelist: Danielle Middleton, Sony ATV

Danielle Middleton got her start in music at an early age singing in the children’s chorus at the Metropolitan Opera. When she was nine, she was invited to sing “You Are Not Alone” on stage at  the VMAs with Michael Jackson, igniting her lifelong obsession with pop music. Danielle dove into the music industry straight out of college working for companies like BMI interning at Redlight Management and booking live shows around Brooklyn. She eventually landed at Sony ATV in 2014 , where she started as a receptionist and went on to spearheaded the social media initiatives for the entire company before becoming an A&R coordinator and building her own roster.  Her roster includes producer duo Clicknpress (Chris Brown, J.Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Sevyn Streeter), Swagg (H.E.R., American Authors, Wale, Alecia Keys, Kehlani), Singer/Songwriter and artist Kim Vierra (“Como” a song she has with Daddy Yankee, “Tribe” Pitch Perfect)  Corey Chorus (Rihanna, Kim Vierra, Demi Lovato,),  Nikki Vianna (Singer/Songwriter on Atlantic Records) , Andrew Clifton (Trey Songs, K Michelle, Justine Skye, Kendrick Lamar), Bkorn (DJ Khaled, Lil’ Kim, Travis Scott), Singer Songwriter Jared Evan , Grammy winner Mahogany Beatz (Jay-z, Mariah Carey,  Dr. Dre)


Panelist: Nikisha Bailey, Artist Partner Group

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Nikisha has been a music industry professional in NYC for eight years. With a background in Audio Engineering, she has worked at Sony Studios, Def Jam Recordings, Atlantic Records and is currently the head of A&R Admin + Operations for Artist Partner Group (APG). She is essential in executing all producer agreements, clearances and handles the overall logistics of the recording process. Playing a pivotal role between A&R, Marketing, Business Affairs, Nikisha ensures that the artist and label can release products without liability and within budget. Her current roster includes Kevin Gates, Kehlani, Charlie Puth, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Ava Max.

Nikisha loves connecting people, places and things in a modern, meaningful manner. In 2018 she and industry friends founded Our Table, which serves as bi-monthly dinner series that brings key collaborators together in an intimate setting to break bread and move the culture forward through conversation.

Nikisha serves as Chapter Chair for Women In Music NYC in which she works on solidifying long-standing connections and membership within the Entertainment community.


Panelist: Susan Busch, Domino Records

Susan Busch is an A&R Executive based in Brooklyn, NY. Originally from El Paso, TX she started her career in the music business as a College Rep for BMG and Music Director at KVRX while attending the University of Texas at Austin. In 2001 she moved to Seattle, WA to work at Sub Pop Records. After 10 years at Sub Pop running Radio Promotions and doing A&R she moved to NY to join the team at Domino. She is currently the Director of A&R at Domino Records and Domino Publishing.


Panelist: Lanre Gaba, Atlantic Records- GM/SVP Urban A&R at Atlantic Records

Lanre Gaba is a music industry executive with almost two decades of experience as a business manager and leader.

In her current role as General Manager and Senior Vice-President of A&R at Atlantic Records, Lanre heads the urban music division that is home to Cardi B, Janelle Monae,Wiz Khalifa among others.

Lanre considers herself lucky that she was able to turn her teenage passion for studying album credits and making mixtapes into a successful career. Even more so, she is proud of the artist careers and music she has helped shaped.


Panelist: Xtina Prince, Republic Records

Xtina, a NY native, made her start in the music industry as an aspiring artist.  After exploring other avenues in tech and PR, she landed a job as the assistant to the President of A&R at Virgin Records where she discovered her love for the business of music helping to deliver projects from Katy Perry to Alice Chains, then navigating to the management side supporting acts such Tennis, Innerpartysystem and RDGLDGRN.

Combining her early personal artist and diverse professional experiences with her love of Brooklyn hip-hop inspired her to launch The Blind Youth, a company committed to culture and the development of the early careers of genre-defying artists such as SZA and South Central hip-hop artist, Duckwrth. 

Xtina later joined UMG to help develop and launch one of the first global delivery systems designed to streamline the process of archiving documents and metadata with the aim to account to artists more efficiently in the then ever-changing and fast-changing music landscape.  This role spanned across the Universal labels of Def Jam, Island and Republic Records, before launching to labels across the globe.  Armed with this comprehensive understanding of the business, Xtina joined Republic Records, where she challenges herself to identify unique and influential artists for the label’s roster.
