  Join us on April 20th for our annual Earth Day Clean-Up with  Friends of Griffith Park! Our group will clear stream beds to keep the park clean and protected from floods and fires.
  

  Time: Saturday, April 20th, 8:15 - 11am
  

  
  

  Location: Park in the Greek Theater parking lot, located at 2700 N Vermont Ave. Walk 10 min to the Bird Sanctuary, where Friends of Griffith Park will have a welcome table and signs.

  
  

  More Details: Please wear a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable, long pants that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a water bottle and work gloves if you have a pair at home.

  Women in Music is launching new initiative called Safe Spaces which is committed to fostering a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing within the music industry.

  Mission: Our mission is to ensure that every person can work in the music industry without being subject to harassment, assault or abuse. We provide tools and guidelines for businesses in the industry to establish and sustain a safe work environment for employees. Likewise, we provide support and resources to individuals who have experienced harassment, assault, and trauma, assisting them in their path to recovery and justice.

  About the event: On April 30th we will host a launch event featuring a powerful keynote speaker, a presentation of TuneCore's BE THE CHANGE: Gender Equity in Music Study, a message from an attorney at Perkins, and presenting the Safe Spaces Resource Directory. The comprehensive resource directory connects survivors and learners with resources and organizations dedicated to supporting their needs.

  Keynote: Denise Soler Cox

  After going from a stay-at-home-mom to award-winning activist filmmaker, Top 100 podcaster and sought-after international speaker, Denise Soler Cox uses her experience to produce inspiring content that sparks meaningful and transformative dialog.

  In 2020 Denise was recognized as a “Featured Host” by Apple Podcast North America for her podcast “The Self-ish Latina'' which has listeners in 32 countries. Denise has been invited to speak on over 400 stages including two TEDx talks and has worked with some of the world's most recognized brands like Progressive, Microsoft, AARP, Facebook, LinkedIn, JP Morgan Chase, Salesforce, Procter & Gamble, Dow Jones, Eli Lilly, KPMG, Starbucks and VaynerMedia, SONY, to name a few.

  Her work with Project Eñye has been featured on NBC Nightly News, Forbes.com, CNN, NBC Latino, Chicago Tribune, Telemundo, Univision, Fox News Latino, HOLA and the Huffington Post.

  Denise is a distinguished member of the 4th Cohort of the Stanford Latino Leaders Entrepreneur Program and was a National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) 2017 Fellow. She was honored to be selected as the 2018 recipient of the ""Bridge Builder Award in Education"" from the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

  Want to bump elbows with reps from Live Nation, The Recording Academy, local music festivals + venues, radio programmers, and top artist managers, all in one night? Then you're gonna to love the return of WIM Boston's Music Industry Speed Networking!
  
  Join us at Crystal Ballroom on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. for our second (and free) evening of mentorship, shared knowledge, and new connections. Just like last year, this event will pair artists, music professionals, and students with seasoned industry veterans from the scene for quick rounds of mentorship and lasting connections. We've already lined up mentors from Live Nation, Boston Emissions, Club Passim, and Good Harbor Management (home to Lucius, Father John Misty, and Mitski, to name a few), and more are being confirmed as we speak!
  
  Please note: Our sign-up process for speed meetings will be in person this year. Doors to the event open at 7 p.m., when guests will be able to sign up for speed meetings with their mentors of choice. Networking will run from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Please plan accordingly!
  
  Throughout the night, guests will also be able to mingle organically with other creatives, students, and industry pros in attendance, so don't forget those business cards.
