WIM LA's annual Sync Critique is back with a focus on music for the streaming platforms! Streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon have moved from licensing content from major studios like Universal and Warner Bros. to creating their own big budget projects and using data and algorithms to target specific audiences. But, after last year’s dual writer and actor strikes coupled with advances in technology, have changed the game. What should songwriters and artists know now when trying to get their music placed? Our expert panel of music supervisors and label/publishing execs will provide their insights and the panel will be followed by a Q&A/conversation where member submitted music will be reviewed and constructive feedback will be provided.
Panelists:
Deja Seigler - Music Supervisor and Chief Executive Officer, Alooma Inc.
Adriana Tapia - Manager Sync, Warner Records
Kiki Finley - CEO and Music Publisher at Point Blank Management
Elizabeth “Liz” Henderson - Director Sync Clearance, Warner Chappell
How to submit your song for critique (WIM members only):
Interested WIM Members have the opportunity to submit their own song for potential review/critique. This is a great chance to get feedback directly from sync and industry creatives. If you’re interested in having your song played and reviewed by the panelists during the session:
1) Must be a WIM member
2) RSVP to attend the event
3) Submit your .mp3 file or Spotify link using this form linked here.
Please note the following:
Deadline for song submissions is 5pm on October 23rd (songs submitted after the deadline will not be considered).
You must be present at the session to have your song considered for review.
Songs will be selected at random and we will accommodate as many as possible; however, it is possible that not everyone will have the opportunity to have their song selected/reviewed due to time constraints.
Song submissions are open to WIM Members ONLY.
