WIM LA's annual Sync Critique is back! This year will feature a panel of women who specialize in sync licensing for video games, apps and new media. Following a Q&A/conversation, panelists will review some member-submitted songs and provide constructive feedback. Some topics we hope to address include:

  • How have video games and new/digital media changed the sync game for music creators, labels, and publishers?
  • How do hits from years past find a new music life cycle?
  • How do gamers pick their favorite songs for livestreams?
  • What do game developers consider when developing game soundtracks?
  • How can songwriters, artists, labels, etc. capitalize on this space to score their next big career changing sync?

This discussion aims to explore these topics and more. Artists and songwriters can also submit music for feedback and critiques.

Submitting your song for critique (WIM members only):
Interested WIM Members have the opportunity to submit their own song for potential review/critique. This is a great chance to get feedback directly from sync and industry creatives. If you’re interested in having your song played and reviewed by the panelists during the session you must:

  1. Be a WIM member
  2. RSVP to attend the event
  3. Submit your .mp3 file to wimla@womeninmusic.org no later than Sunday, November 13th.

Please note the following:

  • Songs submitted after the deadline will not be considered
  • You must be present at the session to have your song considered for review
  • Songs will be selected at random and we will accommodate as many as possible; however, it is possible that not everyone will have the opportunity to have their song reviewed due to time constraints
  • Song submissions are open to WIM Members ONLY

If you are not a WIM Member but would like to submit a song for critique, please join WIM at www.womeninmusic.org first and then RSVP as a WIM member.

Parking: Street and lot parking is available. Attendees can also park at the location – cost is $10. Metro stations are also available at Hollywood & Highland and Hollywood & Western.
