We are thrilled to announce this exclusive WIM LA event! On May 21st, we will be hosting a workshop at 4th Street Recording Studio for women creators and those involved with creators to learn more about working and recording in a studio. This is a chance to feel more comfortable and empowered in understanding more about your sessions. This workshop is a safe space for you to ask questions in front of seasoned veterans. Speakers include Lenise Bent, Ainjel Emme, and Jasmine Mills.

Speakers:

Lenise Bent | Engineer, Producer - Lenise was one of a handful of women engineers working in Hollywood in the 1970s, and was the first woman to receive an RIAA platinum award for her engineering of AutoAmerican by Blondie. She expanded into producer roles and post production, working as an editor, supervisor, and mixer. 

Ainjel Emme | Independent Producer, Engineer, Musician - Ainjel started as an independent singer/songwriter, then pivoted to a career in production. Starting at Interscope Records, she now works as an independent vocal producer, with credits that include 2021’s Metallica Blacklist and Ally & AJ’s album that was listed by Billboard as one of the Best Albums of 2021.

Jasmine Mills | Head Engineer at Beets & Produce, Inc., - Jasmine has worked with artists such as Kesha and Weezer and writes technical articles about recording equipment and production.  A member of WIM, she also serves as the Soundgirls representative for EIPMA, and is on the executive committee of the LA Chapter of AES.

Kathleen Wirt | CEO & Owner at 4th Steet Republic, Inc. Kathleen has owned and operated the legendary boutique studio 4th Street Recording in Santa Monica since 1989. where she has worked with everyone from No Doubt to SZA, and where she takes a special interest in promoting the careers of women in audio production.
